Peer Assessment

Honours students are expected to have a good understanding of scientific method and data presentation as shown in journal articles. This 'critical reading' initiative is aimed at developing this understanding further so that intelligent reading becomes habit. Week by week, a scientific paper is chosen by a member of staff, and every student will read the paper but only one student presents each week. The student's presentation is peer assessed on his/ her ability to clearly and accurately explain the major concepts of the paper and to draw some conclusions about the research.
