Student choice in assessment
The assessment method that I use gives students choice in the combination of assessment tasks they do for each course. This idea originally came from Professor Sue Thomas who is now Pro Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Division of Health, Design and Science) at the University of Canberra.
